Farrukh Habib appointed as state minister for information

The federal government on Wednesday appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Farrukh Habib as the state minister for information and broadcasting. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry congratulated Habib on his new appointment and said that it was a well-deserved appointment. “Congratulations to @FarrukhHabibISF for his well deserved appointment as State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, he will take oath of office tomorrow,” he tweeted.
Habib was appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Farrukh Habib in 2018. On April 15, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry was reappointed as the minister for information and broadcasting.

Leader of the Opposition in Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani and his son Ali Haider Gilani submitted their replies in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as the commission heard a petition filed by PTI leaders seeking disqualification of the former prime minister from the Senate seat.
As the hearing began on Monday, Gilani requested the commission to dismiss disqualification pleas against him for being ‘inadmissible’ as the allegations levelled by the PTI members were ‘baseless’ and ‘frivolous’. He further called Parliamentary Leader for Railways Farrukh Habib and Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Barrister Maleeka Bokhari as ‘habitual petitioners’. The PPP leader has asked the commission to declare the petitions against him as inadmissible as the allegations leveled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government are baseless and non-serious.

ISLAMABAD: The scrutiny committee of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has found that two major opposition parties the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were maintaining several undeclared bank accounts.
Informed sources told
Dawn that the disclosure was made during the hearing by the scrutiny committee of foreign funding cases against the PML-N and PPP on Thursday.
According to details received by the scrutiny committee with the help of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the PML-N and PPP had concealed 12 and seven bank accounts, respectively, from the ECP. ....
