The Tiruchi Railway Divisional authorities are continuing their drive against those found not wearing masks in railway stations falling within their jurisdiction and on trains as a measure to combat COVID-19.
Sustained drives carried out by the field-level railway officials all over Tiruchi Division since April 17 has resulted in booking of 135 cases against violators found not wearing masks in station premises and on board trains. Fines were slapped on each one of them and the total amount realised was ₹67,500 till May 4. The fine amount of ₹500 was being imposed under the Indian Railways (Penalties for activities affecting cleanliness at Railway Premises), Rules 2012. ....

GUWAHATI: The Indian Railways is taking various measures to contain the spread of the resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic, in accordance with the guidelines issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time. One of the specific guideline is to wear face mask/cover in order to contain the spread of the pandemic.
The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for movement of trains as brought out by IR on 11.05.2020 in para 2.3 (ix) says that it should be advised to all passengers that they shall be wearing face cover/mask at entry and during travel . ....

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 19 (ANI): Train passengers from Kerala, Goa, Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR, Gujarat and Uttarakhand will now be required to produce a negative RT-PCR test report taken at most 48 hours before travelling to Maharashtra.
The Maharashtra government has categorised these six states as places of sensitive origin amid the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
A new SOP has been put in place for travel in long-distance trains from these states to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
All passengers shall be compulsorily screened and only asymptomatic passengers shall be allowed to board the trains for Maharashtra. Social distancing should be ensured during boarding/deboarding and travel, Maharashtra Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte said in an order on Sunday. ....
