LAHORE:Railway officials, on the special directions of Divisional Superintendent Railway Lahore M Nasir Khalili, fined 45 ticket-less passengers during a surprise raid on a train from Lahore to Rawalpindi on Thursday.
The Railway raiding team consisted of Divisional Commercial Officer (DCO) Railway Lahore Shahid Raza along with Special Group of Ticket Examiners, collected Rs17,040 from fare-dodgers in the form of fine and deposited in the state treasury.
In addition, DCO Railway Lahore also launched a crackdown on vending stalls at Lahore railway station and fined ten stall owners Rs9,000 for selling substandard items, not displaying the rate list properly and overcharging. Eight stalls were fined Rs1,000 each while two stalls were fined Rs500 each. ....

The Tiruchi Railway Divisional authorities are continuing their drive against those found not wearing masks in railway stations falling within their jurisdiction and on trains as a measure to combat COVID-19.
Sustained drives carried out by the field-level railway officials all over Tiruchi Division since April 17 has resulted in booking of 135 cases against violators found not wearing masks in station premises and on board trains. Fines were slapped on each one of them and the total amount realised was ₹67,500 till May 4. The fine amount of ₹500 was being imposed under the Indian Railways (Penalties for activities affecting cleanliness at Railway Premises), Rules 2012. ....
