WFXB June 28, 2021 A woman has been charged after an inmate was found dead at the Robeson County Detention Center. According to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, the body of 37 year old Harley Strickland was discovered around 5:15 a.m. in her cell after officers noticed she did not get out of bed to get breakfast. She was booked into the jail on Thursday for failure to appear in court. The investigation into her death led to 29 year old Arriel Locklear of Maxton to be charged with providing drugs to inmates and possession of a controlled substance on a jail or prison premise, she was given a $50,000 secured bond. Deputies said Locklear was previously arrested Thursday for a failure to appear warrant. The cause of death for Strickland will be determined following an autopsy.
