Rosemont plans to give tax increment financing dollars to developers of two hotel properties near the Allstate Arena as an incentive for their redevelopment and reopenings.
The village board Monday agreed to give Chicago-based Gateway Investment Partners LLC up to $6.5 million for the planned renovation of the closed Edward Hotel, 6600 Mannheim Road. ....

Stalled Milwaukee apartment development gets more time due to COVID-19

A long-stalled Park East strip apartment development is getting more time from Milwaukee County officials to begin construction but that work could start in 2021.
Construction on the Avenir project is planned on a site formerly owned by the county between North Jefferson, North Milwaukee and East Lyon streets and East Ogden Avenue.
That work was to begin in 2020.
But developer Weidner Investment Services Inc., based in Kirkland, Washington, delayed the project because of the COVID-19 pandemic s economic effects.
Weidner now plans to begin construction no later than April 2022, with completion by November 2023. Work could start in 2021, according to a county report. ....
