13-month-old baby discharged from hospital was found dead in her cot the next day, inquest hears

At around 5.30am, Luna was assessed by Dr Mustapa.
Miss Thomas told Dr Mustapa that Luna had a fever, had been struggling to breathe, was eating less than usual but was still taking on fluids. Luna was also found to have a blanching rash on her torso.
Luna was diagnosed with suspected bronchiolitis, described as a blockage of the small airways in the lungs caused by a virus .
Dr Mustapa told the court that before discharging Luna, she reassured Miss Thomas, gave her safety netting advice, and told her that the case would be referred to the Community Children s Nursing Service. ....

A 13-MONTH-OLD baby girl tragically died after suffering with a severe bacterial infection.
Hannah Thomas, of Harrowby Street, Farnworth, noticed her baby daughter Luna Ellora became ill in March last year.
Bolton Coroner s Court heard evidence that on March 24 Luna had a cough, she had gone off her food, she began sticking her tongue out and her mum described her as dazed .
Over the next couple of days Hannah gave Luna some Calpol but her cough became continuous and she struggled with her breathing. And in the early hours of March 26, she took her daughter s temperature and it was high at 38.3 degrees celcius. ....
