UCC Debunks Claims Of Drop In 2021 Universities Ranking


 
The University of Cape Coast has debunked claims circulating on the media that it position had dropped in the 2021 ranking of Universities in Ghana.
There was a publication on a news portal on Friday, February 5, purporting that the University had dropped from third to sixth position in the 2021 Webometrics ranking of World Universities.
The publication also mentioned that the Regent University College of Science and Technology had now taken the position of UCC, while the University of Development Studied (UDS) had also dropped with the University of Ghana maintaining its first position.
A statement signed by Major (Rtd) Kofi Baah Bentum, Public Affairs Director of UCC and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Cape Coast, described the publication as ‘erroneous’ and ‘mischievous’ and urged its stakeholders to totally ignore it with the contempt it deserves. ....

Regent University holds 14th graduation
Regent University College of Science and Technology held its 14
th Graduation Ceremony on December 19, 2020 at the forecourt of the Regent Campus in McCarthy Hill, Accra.
Addressing a limited congregation, incoming-President of Regent University Prof. Ernest Ofori Asamoah, emphasized the overall goal of Universities, which is to “generate knowledge, disseminate knowledge universally and provide community service through teaching, research and socio-cultural engagements with the community for public good.”
He highlighted how Regent was achieving these objectives through research, international partnerships, the development of relevant academic programmes, and the adoption of technology in teaching and learning.
In the area of research, Prof. Asamoah announced that Regent was among fourteen institutions in Africa, and the only institution in Ghana selected to host a Malaria Research Project. ....
