In 1983, Bradley – now aged 57 – was punished for indecent assault, and in 2012 he received a five-year jail term for an offence of penetrative sexual assault. He was made subject to the sexual offenders’ notification requirements for life, but received another prison sentence, in 2019, for flouting that order and illegal possession of a bladed article. Carlisle Crown Court A convicted sex offender has been sentenced after banned images featuring child characters from the animated television series The Simpsons were found on his computer. Police visited Mark Richard Bradleyâs south Cumbria home in December 2019, in connection with an unrelated enquiry. They seized an Acer device containing 24 prohibited images of children. Carlisle Crown Court heard these all featured child characters from The Simpsons engaged in sexual acts, and concerning online search terms were also found. Fifty-seven-year-old Bradley, of Gardiner Bank, Kendal, admitted possessing the banned images and was handed a 36-month community order today by a judge who noted that a pre-sentence report concluded that was a punishment that would be most beneficial to society in general. ....
