New Delhi: New Delhi: The Beating Retreat ceremony, which marks the end of 4-day-long Republic Day celebrations, concluded on Friday after a masterful musical display from 26 bands belonging to Indian armed forces and paramilitary forces. A special performance was also delivered this year commemorating the 50 years of India s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war.
As many as 15 Military bands and 15 Pipes and Drums bands from regimental centres and battalions participated in the Beating Retreat ceremony, which is held every year on January 29 at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi. ....

Like every year, the Beating Retreat ceremony of this year took place at the Raisina Hills. The annual event which dates back to the early 1950 marks the end of the four-day-long Republic Day celebrations. The ceremony is organised on January 29 every year and is performed by the bands of the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Airforce.
Beating Retreat is a centuries-old military tradition that dates back to the days when the troops ceased Fighting and withdrew from the battlefield at sunset. The ceremony has emerged as an event of national pride when the Colours and Standards are paraded. For Indians, the day concludes Republic Day celebrations. ....

A special new composition Swarnim Vijay would be played to commemorate the 50 years of India s 1971 victory over Pakistan in the Beating Retreat ceremony to be held on January 29 to mark the end of the four-day-long 72nd Republic Day festivities.
The Beating Retreat ceremony of 2021 is scheduled to witness flavours of Indian tunes on Friday, with as many as 26 performances at the historic Vijay Chowk scheduled to enthral spectators with captivating and foot-tapping music of the bands from the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). ....

New Delhi [India], January 28 (ANI): The Beating Retreat ceremony of 2021 is scheduled to witness flavours of Indian tunes on Friday, January 29, with as many as 26 performances at the historic Vijay Chowk scheduled to enthral spectators with captivating and foot-tapping music of the bands from the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
This year, 15 Military bands and 15 Pipes and Drums Bands from Regimental Centres and Battalions are participating in Beating the Retreat ceremony .
Apart from that, one band each of Indian Navy and Indian Air Force will also be part of the event. Another band of Centre APF is also scheduled to perform during the ceremony. ....
