Rodgers of Plymouth expands portfolio with new MG Motor UK showroom

Rogers of Plymouth have joined the MG Motor UK franchise with the opening of a new dealership in its hometown.
The Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi and Ssangyong franchised retail group officially introduced customers to the new MG range at its existing Christian Mill showroom with the opening of doors after COVID-19 ‘Lockdown 3’ last week.
Speaking to Plymouth Live about the new franchise, newly-appointed managing director Richard Ackland said described it as an “exciting proposition”.
Rodgers of Plymouth has been in operation for over 90 years and has branches at Brixton, Budshead Road, Crownhill, and on the Christian Mill Business Park. ....

Minstergate Group opens three new MG Motor UK dealerships in Yorkshire

Minstergate Group has jumped wholeheartedly into the MG Motor UK franchise with the opening of new dealership sites in York, Hessle and Scarborough.
The Hessle-based retailer, which also represents the Hyundai Motors UK and Peugeot UK brands, joins the Chinese-owned OEMs network in a year in which it plans to see its scale rise to 130 locations across the UK.
MG’s expansion in 2021 follows the addition of 28 new retail sites in 2020 and the addition of the new MG 5 SW EV and MG HS SUV to its product line-up as its targets continued sales growth.
Minstergate chief executive, Mark Campey, said: “MG’s rapid growth and electric vehicle leadership makes it a great brand to bring into our portfolio and we’re very excited to open our new MG Motor sites in Yorkshire. ....

MG Motor UK targets further expansion to 130 dealerships in 2021

MG Motor UK has targeted the appointment of 10 more franchised car retail sites to its network in 2021 after welcoming 28 new dealerships last year â expanding its network to 130 locations.
The Chinese-owned car brand, which scored a hit with its ZS EV electric vehicle and has since added the MG5 SW EV to its line-up, saw its UK registrations rise by 41% last year against the backdrop of a market down 29.4% overall.
MGâs current UK car dealership network stands at 120 sites, but continued growth targets mean that the brand is keen to extend its footprint.
MG Motor UK commercial director, Guy Pigounakis, said: âOur dealer network is expanding on the back of a record year in which we saw our market share break the crucial 1% barrier and our sales volumes increase by 41%, massively outperforming the market and finishing the year with volumes on a par with some much more established rivals. ....
