Urgent appeal for foster carers in Leeds

AN URGENT appeal for foster carers has been issued in Leeds because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Foster4Leeds, Leeds City Council’s fostering service, is seeking to increase the number of foster carers available to care for children and young people throughout the city.
The number of families fostering with Foster4Leeds has grown substantially during the last decade and is currently at the highest it’s ever been. But the number of children and young people needing foster placements continues to rise across the UK and more foster carers are needed at both a local and national level.
In June 2020 Barnardo’s declared a national‘state of emergency’ as the number of children needing foster care during the coronavirus pandemic rose by 44 per cent. ....
