About two dozen high school students in Medford walked out of class earlier this month as part of an effort to push district officials to say it was optional for students to wear face masks. The community is the latest Wisconsin school district to loosen or eliminate mask requirements.
Following the Wisconsin Supreme Court s decision throwing out the statewide mask mandate [2], officials from the rural, central Wisconsin district voted to make face masks optional for kindergarten through fourth-grade students in classrooms. The high school students action on April 16, demanded masks be optional for them, too. ....

Medford Area School Board Votes to Make Masks Optional

MEDFORD, WI (WSAU) A school district in Taylor County is changing its mask requirements.
Monday night the Medford Area School Board spent close to two hours hearing from the public and discussing the school district’s mask requirement.
In early April the Board voted 5-4 to make masks optional in the classroom for kids in grades 4 and under. Masks still were required in hallways and common areas like the cafeteria. The week after the decision, some high school students walked out of class to protest masks being required for their age group. ....

November 24 at 12:58 p.m., AST arrested 37-year-old Timothy Johnson of Palmer with the assistance of PPD. Johnson had an active warrant and was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest and three counts of Assault 3 on a LEO. Johnson was taken to MSPT.
