Delta Air Lines will resume nonstop flights to New York City, beginning June 7.
Daily service between Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) will use a 76-seat CRJ-900 aircraft, the carrier said.
The flights will resume as New York is lifting many of its capacity restrictions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As the demand for travel is growing, we are happy that our customers will have more options and more convenience as they return to the skies and reconnect with friends and family,” Ronald Mathieu, Birmingham Airport Authority president and CEO, said. ....

Delta to resume Detroit to Alabama route in March

Delta Air Lines will restart nonstop flights between Birmingham, Alabama (BHM) and Detroit (DTW) from March 4, according to the Birmingham Airport Authority.
Atlanta-based Delta will use a Bombardier CRJ700 on the route; it was not clear which regional airline will operate the flight under contract for Delta.
“This announcement is positive news for our customers, our airport and our region as we continue to navigate and overcome the challenges caused by COVID-19,” Birmingham Airport Authority president and CEO Ronald Mathieu said.
