ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Rochester City School Board President, Van White will not be seeking re-election. White still has a full year left on the board but tells News10NBC Investigative Reporter Jennifer Lewke, he will be running for Monroe County Judge. Next week when the board elects its officers, White will not be seeking to stay-on as president. He says he’s never stopped practicing law and given the fact that there is a lot of similar challenges and system overlaps, he doesn’t see himself as walking away from the challenges that RCSD faces. White has served as president since 2014, and has served on the board since 2007. He previously ran for Rochester City Court judge in 2019.
