OK Police Catch Duo Scamming Grandma for Thousands of Dollars


It s a scam we have warned you about in the past and sadly an Oklahoma grandmother fell for it. Thankfully some folks helped her out.
So many people are trying to scam you out of your hard earned money. Sadly, people fall for these everyday. A popular one over the past few years has been telling you that a loved one has been arrested and they need money for bail or that you have a warrant out for your arrest. We have done stories like this in the past.

Up in Edmond, Oklahoma, a grandmother unfortunately fell for one of these this week. She received a call that her grandchild was arrested and needed $15,000 for bail. So she went down to Kirkpatrick Bank and took out the money. All I can say is, thank goodness the teller asked questions. She asked the grandmother what she needed the money for and the teller knew this didn t sound right. ....

Man, Woman Arrested For 'Grandparent Scam,' Accused Of Tricking Seniors Out Of Thousands

OKLAHOMA CITY -
Edmond and Oklahoma City police arrested Roger Ray and Jabriex Mann on Friday in connection with multiple scams targeting seniors. 
Officers arrested Roger Ray II, 37, and Jabriex Mann, 27, of Georgia and booked them into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on multiple criminal counts including conspiracy, exploitation of the elderly and obtaining by false pretenses. 
The pair, according to police, attempted to steal more than $15,000 in cash from an Edmond man in his 80s on Friday. 
Someone claiming to be an attorney called the man and said his nephew was in jail and needed the cash to pay bond. The caller instructed the victim to put the cash in a manilla folder and wait for “Adam Jones from the bondsman’s office” to pick it up, according to court documents.  ....

This seasoned group of Tulsa musicians has been playing together live for a few years, but their new self-titled album is their first as a band. Recorded as live cuts at Black Box Studio and released in January on Tulsa’s nonprofit Horton Records label, Saugeye  showcases several original tunes, along with covers of songs by acclaimed singer songwriter, Malcolm Holcombe, and several talents who are no longer with us, such as Tulsa musician and luthier Dixie Michell, Red Dirt legend Brandon Jenkins, and hitmaker Bill Withers.
“Another Lifetime” is the final track on the release.
“This song idea came to me while playing a show at 18th & Boston in Tulsa a few years back,” says Tyler in a statement. “I eventually finished it with my co-writing friend, Jamie Kindleyside. We tried to express the simple hope that comes from being in the moment with someone who really needs it, and then from there the song took on its own meaning.” ....
