Centre Film Festival Seeking Student Artists To Design Festival Poster

For the third straight year, Penn State students have the opportunity to show off their artwork as a part of the Centre Film Festival.
Penn State students are asked to submit their work for the chance to make the poster for the 2021 Centre Film Festival. Students can send in their portfolios and/or websites to
[email protected], along with a short explanation of their interest in film and the festival. The deadline to submit is May 15.

With restrictions and shutdowns, our once-lively and diverse cultural scene has been dealt a heavy blow, but innovation from the creative types who lead these institutions has helped them survive.

“Life changed drastically for us when the COVID mandates first went into effect on March 17, 2020,” says Rebecca Inlow, secretary/treasurer of the non-profit board that manages Philipsburg’s historic Rowland Theatre. “The theater was closed for five weeks for the Spanish Influenza in 1918, and I had been doing my own countdown and remember when we hit the 35-day mark of our closure and thinking how crazy it was that we were surpassing that.” ....

BELLEFONTE Since 1988, the Centre County Historical Society (CCHS) has annually recognized individuals and organizations for their outstanding work in preserving and interpreting Centre County history.
And this year, historic preservation and advocacy projects from around the county will be featured on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 3 p.m. via Zoom.
