Mass brawl at Wellington sports club is second big bust-up in a year


“It is kind of disappointing when three individuals [allegedly] behave in such an antisocial manner that doesn t reflect on the community,” The Hub chairman Ross Jamieson​ said. “I was very proud of the way our staff and management handled it.”
Within days, those accused had been delivered trespass notices from the club by police, he said.

Management at Toitū Pōneke have banned three people after the brawl.
The Hub is made up of six sports groups with 1800 members aged four to 90, plus about 20 community groups which used it.
Police confirmed they were called to the Kilbirnie Cres clubrooms after reports of up to 10 people fighting early in the morning of Saturday, April 10. Four people were injured, most with facial, bruises, or cuts. One person was reportedly knocked out and had some broken facial bones, police said. ....

GAS cooking at home has been linked to an increased risk of asthma among Australian kids in an alarming new report.
The Climate Council study says using a gas stove without proper ventilation has a similar impact on childhood asthma to the effect of living in a house with a smoker.
The report claims up to 12 per cent of cases of childhood asthma in Australia can be attributed to gas cooking at home.
The finding tallies with other US studies which found children living in a home with gas stoves had a 42 per cent increased risk of asthma symptoms, and a 24 per cent greater chance of being diagnosed with the condition at some point in life. ....
