As Supreme Court on Monday resumed hearing of a petition against removal of the former Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, by the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) two years ago, one member of the bench, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, observed that when facts are admitted, there is no need for a proper inquiry.
“It’s happening in every department that when facts are admitted, there is no need for an inquiry,” Justice Ahsan remarked. ....

The top court has finally fixed sacked Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s petition on May 17 against his removal by the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
A five-judge larger bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial and comprising Sardar Tariq Masood,
Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah will hear the constitutional petition seeking to set aside a report of the SJC and a notification issued by the law ministry on October 11, 2018. ....

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Thursday issued notices to the federation and Attorney General for Pakistan in a petition filed by Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, who was sacked as a judge of Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Siddiqui has challenged the Supreme Judicial Council’s recommendation that he be removed [from the post] for the judicial misconduct while addressing the Rawalpindi District Bar Association (RDBA) around two years back.
