FCC Proposes Fine Against Ohio LPFM For Late License Renewal Application, Unauthorized Operation

The FCC has proposed a $3,500 fine against LIGHTHOUSE MINISTRIES OF NORTHWEST OHIO for a late license renewal application for low power WKJH-LP/BRYAN, OH.
The licensee failed to file a license application by the JUNE 1, 2020 deadline and did not respond on time when the FCC issued notice that the license would expire on OCTOBER 1, 2020 if no application was filed by midnight that day. The application was ultimately filed on OCTOBER 27th with a request of license reinstatement based on the PD s misapprehension that the license renewal was due the following year, and that family issues affected the application process. Richie McDonald Departs Lonestar To Focus On Frontmen Of Country

LONESTAR lead singer RICHIE McDONALD has departed the group once again in order to pursue a full-time opportunity with his other band, FRONTMEN OF COUNTRY. The latter group, which signed an exclusive deal with THE KINKEAD ENTERTAINMENT AGENCY for live concert bookings, consists of McDONALD, TIM RUSHLOW (former lead singer of LITTLE TEXAS) and LARRY STEWART (lead singer of RESTLESS HEART). They have revealed nearly 20 live concert dates set for 2021, kicking off FRIDAY, APRIL 16th at the CHOCTAW CASINO RESORT in GRANT, OK.

Square To Acquire Majority Interest In Tidal For $297 Million

SQUARE, INC. is acquiring a majority ownership stake in JAY-Z s TIDAL for $297 million in cash and stock, with existing artist shareholders as the remaining stakeholders. TIDAL will operate as an independent division of SQUARE alongside the Seller and Cash App divisions. JAY-Z will join SQUARE s board under the terms of the deal.
“It comes down to one simple idea: finding new ways for artists to support their work,” said SQUARE CEO JACK DORSEY. “New ideas are found at intersections, and we believe there’s a compelling one between music and the economy. I knew TIDAL was something special as soon as I experienced it, and it will continue to be the best home for music, musicians, and culture.”

FCC Fines Another Station For Late License Renewal Application

The FCC has proposed yet another fine against a station for filing a late license renewal application and has sent Notices of Violation to two FLORIDA stations for operating with excessive power.
The COUSHATTA TRIBE OF LOUISIANA is facing a $1,500 proposed fine for failing to file its license renewal application for low power FM KWRJ-LP/ELTON, LA on time; the licensee had a FEBRUARY 3, 2020 filing deadline but got the application in on MAY 29, 2020, without explanation.
