The Pearl Griffin Memorial Latch Key Program hosted its annual Hamburger Supper in April. After having to cancel last year due to COVID-19, this year s supper was a huge success as Brownwood came out in full force to support this local organization.
Latch Key provides after-school childcare services to families in the Brownwood ISD with parents who are working or going to school during after-school hours and qualify financially. Latch Key provide an afternoon snack, helps with homework and has fun activities provided for the students until parents pick them up after work. ....

Latch Key program's hamburger supper a huge success

The Pearl Griffin Memorial Latch Key Program hosted their annual Hamburger Supper in April. After having to cancel last year due to COVID-19 this year was a huge success! Brownwood came out in full force to support this local organization. Latch Key provides afterschool childcare services to families in the Brownwood ISD with parents who are working or going to school during afterschool hours and qualify financially. They provide an afternoon snack, help with homework, and have fun activities provided for the students until parents pick them up after work.
The families of Latch Key pay no fees for the services they receive. The program operates solely on grants, United Way, donations and fundraisers. ....

Latch Key annual hamburger supper April 13

The Pearl Griffin Memorial Latch Key Program will be hosting their annual Hamburger Supper Fundraiser on Tuesday, April 13th from 5-7pm at 2411 Coggin Avenue.
This event will look a little different from past years as everything will be outdoor seating (weather permitting) and take out.
The Pecan Valley Kiwanis will be cooking the burgers and hotdogs for the program as in past years and then prepared in to-go boxes for safe and easy pick up.
Hamburger supper meals are $5 for children and $7 for adults which includes either a hotdog or hamburger with chips and a drink.
Our hamburger supper is sponsored by Humphrey Pete’s, Subway on Austin, Dr Pepper Bottling Co, The Benton Family, United Supermarket, Brookeshires and anonymous donors. Our sponsors have donated the items needed for this event 100% so all ticket sales stay within the program. ....

Latch Key's annual hamburger supper returns April 13

The Pearl Griffin Memorial Latch Key Program annual hamburger supper fundraiser will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 13 at the Fellowship Hall at the First Christian Church, located at 2411 Coggin Avenue.
A hamburger or hot dog with chips and a drink will be available for $7 for adults and $5 for children.
There again will be a raffle with tickets available at one for $1 or six for $5. The drawing will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 13 and you do not have to be present to win.
Items to be raffled include:

Julie Banks Smith, 51, of Early, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 6, 2021 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. The family has requested that masks be worn and social distancing be observed for everyone’s safety.
Julie was born November 19, 1969 in Brownwood to John and Sandy Banks. She graduated as valedictorian from Blanket High School in 1987 and received an Associate degree from Cisco Junior college in computers. Julie spent the last 15 years working as the office manager of Longhorn Auto Sales for the best boss, Glen Smith. She was a very active mother throughout her daughters lives. She came to everything and anything they got involved in, ball games, music performances. She could always be found cheering for her daughters in their accomplishments. Julie enjoyed spending time in the garden with her flowers, collecting Pioneer Woman kitchenware, sitting on her parents porch drinking coffee ....
