Nelson Walker has retired after 32 years of work at NBSC. Walker sat down for an Editor’s Office Interview to discuss
Editor, Jake McElveen: Let’s get some background information. Where were you born?
Nelson Walker: Right here in Clarendon County, born and raised in Summerton. But I made a small round trip through Sumter when I first started and at the Bank of Sumter before coming back home to Manning.
Where did you attend high school?
I graduated from Clarendon Hall. Then I attended University of South Carolina graduating with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. I was not really planning on going into banking even though throughout high school I had always worked part time at the bank in Summerton during the summers. ....
