MERIDIAN, Idaho Parents in Idaho’s largest school district have come together asking school district leaders to change their mask policy for the upcoming school year.
The group – organized on Facebook – calls itself the West Ada Community for Health and Safety.
The latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends students and teachers wear a face mask indoors regardless of their vaccination status. Despite this, the West Ada School District (WASD) is not going to require masks for the upcoming school year. ....

MERIDIAN, Idaho Protestors spanned from sidewalk to sidewalk outside St. Luke s location in Meridian off Eagle Road. One protest organizer estimated as many as 1,387 participants took part in the protest.
Some worked in healthcare, some had family in the industry, and others just wanted to support. All those who gathered oppose St. Luke s announcement that COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for their staff by Sept. 1, 2021, as a term of employment. ....

BOISE, Idaho St. Luke s Health Systems announced Monday that a new COVID-19 vaccine appointment scheduling process will be implemented. Beginning Monday, St. Luke s will have a vaccine registry and outreach process.
Rather than eligible Idahoans having to check the St. Luke s website or call for available vaccine appointments, St. Luke s will now reach out to patients on the registry when vaccine supply arrives and appointments are available. ....

A lot can happen in 105,120 hours: a child can discover their passion, a teenager can fall in love, or someone of any age can be injured or start to show signs of chronic illness.
School nurses are known for treating playground injuries, but they can play an essential role in identifying early signs of chronic illnesses such as asthma or diabetes, as well as mental and behavioral concerns such as depression, anxiety, and hyperactivity disorders. Even so, up to 60% of American schools aren’t able to employ a full-time, formally-trained nurse on campus, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. ....
