Developer First Base has won planning consent for a £175m redevelopment of the Soapworks site in Bristol.
Bristol City Council has given the green light to the new scheme close to the city centre. The site will see two new buildings delivered as well as the restoration of Grade II-listed Victorian Soapworks building, originally a soap factory dating back to the 1860s, and an improved public realm area.
Once complete, the scheme will deliver 140,000 square foot of flexible workspace and up to 243 new build-to-rent homes. The project will also see the former Gardiner Haskins warehouse in Old Market regenerated. ....
