MARJORIE JEAN MCMILLAN


Marjorie Jean (Crews) McMillan passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, July 13 at The Lodge in Fayette, Missouri.  She was 94 years old.  Born on March 15, 1927 in Fayette to James Hamilton “Hamp” Crews and Marie Elizabeth (Heying) Crews, Margie attended Fayette public schools until the family relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1938, where she graduated from high school in 1944.  Upon returning to Fayette, Margie attended Central College (now Central Methodist University).
Margie married Charles Keeling “Dude” McMillan on September 22, 1946.  Her love and partner in life, Dude owned McMillan’s Café in Fayette while Margie ran their home.  Beginning with the “coffee drinkers” at eight o’clock in the morning, local patrons throughout the day and a college hang-out in the evenings, Mac’s was both a full-time job and passion for them both and she was his perfect partner to make it all work. ....

Owens, George
Well done thy good and faithful servant: Mr. George Owens passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 4:46 PM at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital and was led by angels as he entered the gates of his Heavenly home.
George was born on January 21, 1929 in Bardwell, Kentucky to the late George W. and Ivy Gladys (King) Owens. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1948 and then moved to Paducah, KY to attend Draughons Business College and graduated with a degree in accounting. He was employed by Illinois Central Railroad for 37 years as a laboratory analyst until he retired in 1986.
In 1990 he started Owens Tours following University of Kentucky Basketball teams all over the SEC Conference for 30 years, where he was blessed with so many great friends who became his “Wildcat Family.” George was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. ....

Roy Dee Meyer


Roy Dee Meyer passed away on December 9, 2020, in Choteau, Montana.
Roy was born on February 22, 1924, in Choteau MT to A.L. Meyer, Sr. and Leah (Fulton) Meyer. He joined his older sister, Lorraine and brother, Al. His younger sister, Betty, was born in 1926. Roy attended school in Fairfield and was a member of the second class to graduate from Fairfield High School in 1941. During his senior year, he was elected as state FFA President and then appointed as a National Vice President of the FFA. Roy attended college at MSU in Bozeman and BYU. He returned home prior to graduation to join his father and brother on the family farm. Roy continued to farm for the next 50 years with his father, A.L. and his brother, Al. Roy also worked with the family establishing the Meyer Ditcher Company in 1940. The family manufactured irrigation ditchers and haying equipment. ....
