Legrand acquires C1 family of data-center brands

West Hartford-based electrical and digital building infrastructure provider Legrand said it has acquired a line of optical networking brands that will bolster the manufacturer’s growing set of data-center and IT offerings.
Legrand said Thursday that it has acquired the “Champion ONE” family of brands from Greenwich private equity firm Alvarez & Marsal Capital (AMC).
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The deal also includes the Approved Networks and U.S. Critical brands, which AMC merged with Champion ONE last year.
The brands, housed in Ohio and California, include a wide array of niche components used by data centers, telecoms, universities, healthcare institutions and others, including optical taps, transceivers, switches, amplifiers and various cables. ....
