Letter sent to Lewistown Borough Council deriding recent actions taken

LEWISTOWN The Mifflin County Commissioners, who were chosen to oversee the Mifflin County Municipal Authority and have served on it as placeholder members representing Lewistown Borough, have largely stayed out of the dispute between the outlying muncipalities served by the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown, the Lewistown Borough Council and MABL itself.
The commissioners have composed this letter to borough council and submitted a copy to The Sentinel for publication. The full text appears below in italics.
Dear Borough Council:
The actions you are taking with regard to the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown (“MABL”) are unequivocally wrong. ....

BURNHAM – Burnham Borough Council has joined several other local municipalities serviced by the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown in expressing displeasure with the termination of the memorandum of understanding that would have created a new county-wide municipal authority by Lewistown Borough Council and the recent announcement by Lewistown Borough Council President Venus Shade that there are no plans to sell or transfer MABL. ....

Township asks to ‘come to table’ regarding MABL

LEWISTOWN – The Granville Township Supervisors on Thursday sent a letter to Lewistown Borough Council regarding its feelings pertaining to the situation involving Council and the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown (MABL), which provides service to residents of Granville Township.
A copy of the letter, dated today, was submitted to The Sentinel for publication.

Council Members,
Over the course of the past year, Granville Township and the other affected municipalities have been closely watching the actions undertaken by the Borough in relation to The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown (MABL). We have read, reviewed and conversed about the emails sent by Council President Shade. ....
