The organisation chose the hub as the first unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) DTI testbed due to the intrusion technology pilot that is currently underway. Drones are used for a wide variety of commercial and recreational purposes. Many are equipped with global positioning systems (GPS) that prevent usage in restricted zones. However, some do not follow these regulations and therefore pose a security and safety risk. ....

MIAMI – Ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines (F9) has announced it is starting services between Miami (MIA) and San Salvador (SAL), as part of an expansion that added five new destinations from South Florida’s main airport. As stated in a company press release made public on April 15, “the new routes expand Frontier’s MIA service to 34 nonstop destinations.” In addition to SAL, Frontier is adding services to Myrtle Beach (MYR), Nassau (NAS), San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO), and St. Maarten (SXM). Frontier is now serving both routes with twice-weekly service. Frontier topped off its busy week at MIA by announcing that it will be launching service to four more cities this summer: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (5x weekly) on June 10; Nassau, Bahamas (4x weekly) on June 24; San Jose, Costa Rica (2x weekly) on July 2; and St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles (1x weekly) on July 10.
