These have been made by the chief executive, councillor Fisher Wang and Rural Community Board chairwoman Shirley Trumper. The complaints follow Facebook posts. These type of complaints have happened in the past and, to my knowledge, not accomplished anything. Do we not live in a democracy where opposing voices are tolerated? Would it not be more prudent to simply ignore this? ....

The nearly $60,000 cost of replacement rubber matting is apparently too much. There is no guarantee the matting would be treated with respect either, according to the council. But the council is prepared to sink $20 million into the Lakefront redevelopment. Do tourists use the Susan St playground? No, just local families; the same people who are paying for the Lakefront via their rates. ....
