A GROUP of villagers are determined to stop their local pub being sold to developers and keep it as a much loved community asset. The historic Grade II listed Holly Bush Inn in Little Leigh is listed for auction on June 7, but an application has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council to put a six month hold to those plans. Still in its infancy, the campaign to save the pub from the pages of history has hit the ground running with many in the village offering their assistance to save what they see as a vital part of their past, present and future. ....
LOCKDOWN rules continue to cause confusion for residents, particularly with regards to dog walking. Government guidance issued by the Cabinet Office following the announcement of the third national lockdown last week states staying at home is ‘the single most important action’ to take in order to protect the NHS. People can however leave their homes for exercise with their household (or support bubble) or one other person. This should be limited to once per day and people should not travel outside their local area. The guidance dictates if leaving home, then to stay local, meaning staying in ‘the village, town or part of the city where you live’. ....
