Vulcan County council has approved a request from a subsidiary of ABO Wind AG to place a transmission line in a County road allowance southeast of Milo.
Council approved the request from Buffalo Plains Wind Farm Inc. to use roughly 16 kilometres of right of way along the west side of Range Road 211.

Council did make an addition to a motion to approve the request, that a single pole be used along a two-kilometre developed stretch of the road allowance. The rest of the line will run along an undeveloped road allowance. ....

It was just a nice, relaxing day.
The sun was making its way through a solitary bank of clouds overhead, the blue sky just a little bit further west and expanding as the clouds made their way eastward. There was just enough breeze to ruffle the few blades of roadside grass that was tall enough to push through the snow.

A huge new wind farm is being proposed southwest of Brooks.
The Buffalo Plains Wind Farm would consist of 86 turbine towers and a peak capacity of 514 megawatts.
It would be the largest in Canada when fully built out near the village of Lomond, in Vulcan County, potentially by 2023.
