Roodhouse getting federal grant for fire rescue truck

ROODHOUSE A federal grant will help Roodhouse Fire Protection District buy a new fire rescue truck.
The grant through the USDA’s Community Facility Disaster Grants program will provide $40,500 for the $115,900 vehicle. The remaining $75,400 will be covered by a commercial loan.
The district is getting a fully equipped 2019 Ram 5500 Crew Cab intended to cut down emergency service response time, according to U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis.
“It will ensure that the district can continue to provide emergency medical services in a timely manner. This is an example of the kind of investments the federal government is making to improve public safety in rural America and I’m proud to support it,” Davis said. ....
