ELKHART â Investigators have determined that the December death of a man and his two daughters was a murder-suicide. Elkhart County officers were dispatched to a home on Spring River Drive on Dec. 18 because Jeffrey Marvin, 47, and his two daughters â Lexis, 18, and Haley, 15 â hadn t been heard from for several days. Evidence suggested that the girls had been shot and that Marvin had committed suicide several days prior to their discovery. A formal investigation was conducted by the Elkhart County Homicide Unit, which determined that Marvin had a motive, and did kill his two daughters, commmitting suicide himself thereafter, according to a release from the Elkhart County prosecutor s office. ....

Elkhart County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Marvin home on Spring River Drive around 4 p.m. on December 18 to conduct a welfare check. The responding deputy made entry to the home and found 47-year-old Jeffrey Marvin, 18-year-old Lexis Marvin and 15-year-old Haley Marvin deceased in the residence.
