Tallahassee, Fla. Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Jerome “Jerry” Pate, Anna Upton and John Alter to the Northwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board.
Jerome “Jerry” Pate
Pate, of Pensacola, is the owner of Jerry Pate Turf and Irrigation and Jerry Pate Design. He is a former professional golfer with 15 professional wins including the 1976 U.S. Open and the 1982 Players Championship. He was also a member of the winning 1981 United States Ryder Cup Team. Pate currently serves as Vice Chair of the Northwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board and on the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Foundation Board of Directors. He earned his bachelor’s degree in administrative science from the University ....

Ongoing cleanup and recovery efforts from severe storms throughout the southern United States were disrupted from a new round of thunderstorms on Tuesday.
The Carolinas to Louisiana and portions of northeastern Texas were on watch into Tuesday night, while robust storms also continued to erupt across parts of the Ohio Valley and central Appalachians.
Storms turned deadly early on Tuesday when a Tennessee woman was killed by a falling tree as severe thunderstorms moved through Weakley County, located in the northwestern part of the state, WKRN in Nashville reported. The potent storms tracked through the area around 4 a.m. local time and damaged at least six mobile homes. The victim was reportedly sleeping in her bed when the tree toppled onto her bedroom WKRN reported, citing local law enforcement. ....

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Damage has been reported and tornadoes have been spotted as severe storms barreled through Central Mississippi Friday evening.
A tree collapsed on a Lake Harbor mobile home after a storm passed through the area around 9:30 p.m.
Shortly before this, a home in Northeast Jackson on Brecon Drive had its roof collapse. Nobody inside was injured.
