Man seriously hurt in Norfolk shooting; person of interest in custody


The shooting happened after 7:30 p.m. in the 400 block of North Military Highway.

NORFOLK, Va. A man is fighting to stay alive after he was shot in Norfolk on Tuesday night.
Norfolk Police say it happened in the 400 block of North Military Highway around 7:40 p.m., near the Arby s restaurant.
Medics rushed the man to Sentara Leigh Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say they have a person of interest in custody, but at this time have not said what led to the shooting.
No other information was immediately available.

A Walgreens in Hampton says it “improperly stored” a portion of the Pfizer vaccine doses it administered last month.
Patients who received a shot between March 12 and 26 may need to get revaccinated, according to the chain.
“Walgreens has discovered that certain vials of COVID-19 vaccine were improperly stored at one of our pharmacies before being administered to patients,” company spokesman Fraser Engerman told WHRO.
The problem impacted Pfizer vials at the pharmacy location on Mercury Boulevad. Engerman said staff were in the process of contacting patients who may need to get re-vaccinated, but he would not say how many doses were affected.  ....

NORFOLK, Va. A CVS pharmacy in Norfolk admitted to administering an empty shot to a woman instead of a COVID-19 vaccine dose.
A corporate spokesperson confirmed Thursday that a pharmacy on North Military Highway injected an empty syringe instead of the actual vaccine to a woman on Wednesday.
Shortly after the incident, the store reached out to the patient as soon as they confirmed the shot was empty. ....
