Lubbock Police on Tuesday night released a name and photo of a suspect involved in at least one crime.
Leo Contreras is wanted on an outstanding warrant of Evading Arrest in a Vehicle.
Tuesday afternoon, just before 2:30pm, Texas Anti-Gang Center agents attempted to pull over a vehicle being driven by Contreras near 52nd Street and Avenue G. Contreras fled the attempted traffic stop in his vehicle, forcing law enforcement to chase him.
The pursuit ended when Contreras crashed his vehicle in the 400 block of 38th Street. He was able to flee the scene of the crash. ....

The Lubbock Police Department is seeking a man accused of evading arrest during a chase Tuesday afternoon who is also a person of interest in a deadly shooting Sunday.
At 2:24 p.m., Texas Anti-Gang Center officers attempted to stop Leo Contreras for a traffic violation near 52nd Street and Avenue G, according to a Lubbock police news release. Police say Contreras fled in his vehicle, leading officers on a pursuit which ended in Contreras crashing in the 400 block of 38th Street.
Following the pursuit, officers obtained a warrant for Contreras for evading in a vehicle. ....

(LUBBOCK, TX) – The Lubbock Police Department Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred shortly after 9:45 p.m. Jan. 23 in the 1000 block of North Quaker Avenue.
An Acura TL, driven by 20-year-old Cameron Taylor, was traveling southbound in the 1000 block of North Quaker Avenue. As the roadway curved, the vehicle lost control and veered to the west curb, striking it. The vehicle then left the roadway, struck a utility pole and a light pole along the southwest corner of the intersection of Itasca Street and North Quaker Avenue. ....
