Stockton councillor Louise Baldock has championed carbon monoxide safety for years after her fiancé Michael Price was killed by the gas in 1999. Now the council’s people select committee is looking at what more can be done to flag up dangers in homes across the borough. About 60 people die every year from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning in England and Wales.
