BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â We ve seen and heard so many stories of places closing for good as a result of the pandemic, as many others struggle to stay afloat. One gym, that has several locations around Bakersfield, is dealing with financial hardships, as they continue to make adjustments to keep their business alive.

Despite the fact that gyms can t be open indoors In-Shape has created a new space so that people can still be safe while getting in shape. Still, CEO Francesca Schuler said 2020 has been a tough year for so many. ....

California’s COVID-19 pandemic rules forced In-Shape Health Clubs to file for bankruptcy.
The Chapter 11 filing Wednesday aimed at retaining 45 to 50 clubs means 17 clubs including Manteca West in the SaveMart shopping center and Lathrop will not reopen. In-Shape has also permanently closed two of their three Tracy locations Grant Line Road and Eleventh Street as well as three Stockton locations at Quail Lakes, Marina and Downtown.
The Manteca club on East Yosemite Avenue is one of the 16 In-Shape clubs that are now open for outdoor activities as are the Tracy Boulevard and Stockton West Lane locations. ....

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â In-Shape Health Clubs, which has locations around Bakersfield, has declared bankruptcy.
In a letter to members, In-Shape Health Clubs CEO Francesca Schuler said because of the pandemic the majority of their gyms have been closed the majority of this year leading the chain to have to restructure its business model. The letter said members will not see their membership status change moving forward.
However, the stateâs extended shutdown of gyms has dramatically impacted our business, which is requiring us to develop a plan to restructure our business for the future. As part of this plan, we are filing for Chapter 11 relief so we can continue our day-to-day operations while we restructure the company to ensure our long-term viability.
