Druck Chemie is closing its Burnley operation in the UK, with Graphichem set to take over sales and distribution for the firm’s products in the UK.

Germany-headquartered Druck Chemie is owned by Langley Holdings. It said the closure was the result of a global review of its sales operations. 
Six roles could go as a result, with consultations underway with the affected employees. 
Managing director Mirko Kern said: “The UK market is very competitive and it obviously means we are forced to make difficult choices. Our focus now is on supporting our UK staff affected by the closure.  ....

Heidelberg has sold the Print Media Academy building across the street from the town’s central station. Although the glass and steel structure was somewhat symbolic – it may ultimately be seen as a re-enactment of a heavy metal fantasy that went awry as the demand for sheetfed offset presses declined over the past two decades. It is reported that the building is sold to a Luxembourg-based investment company for a low double-digit million Euro sum. The erstwhile owners will continue to lease some office space in a building in a prime location that must have been expensive to build and maintain. ....

Heidelberg Sells Belgian Production Site


As part of its planned focus on core activities and portfolio adjustments, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) has sold its Belgian production site for printing chemicals to DC Druck Chemie GmbH (Druck Chemie), a subsidiary of Langley Holdings PLC, UK. Langley Holdings is an international engineering group that produces capital goods to a wide range of industries worldwide, including the printing industry. The sale includes the companies BluePrint Products NV and Hi-Tech Chemicals BV, located in Kruibeke, Belgium.
The site develops and manufactures high-quality printing chemicals in flexographic and offset printing, primarily for the packaging and commercial markets, which will continue to be offered by Heidelberg as part of its overall consumables strategy. With the sale, the site and a total of around 40 employees will be transferred to Druck Chemie. Heidelberg generates a purchase price of approx. 20.5 million Euro. The sale is effective now. ....

Heidelberg Sells Belgian Production Site For Printing Chemicals To DC Druck Chemie
Heidelberg generates a purchase price of about 20.5 million euros.
The company said the sale includes the companies BluePrint Products NV and Hi-Tech Chemicals BV, located in Kruibeke, Belgium. The site develops and manufactures printing chemicals in flexographic and offset printing, primarily for the packaging and commercial markets, which will continue to be offered by Heidelberg as part of its overall consumables strategy.
