Two Men Sentenced to Federal Prison for Drug Trafficking Conspiracy in Kodiak
The pair was responsible for introduction of over a kilo of methamphetamine into the community of Kodiak
Anchorage, Alaska – U.S. Attorney Bryan Schroder announced Carlito Marcilino Velasco, 61 of Juneau and Don Irenio Castro Santiago II, 37, a citizen of the Philippines residing in Anchorage, have been sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Timothy M. Burgess to federal prison for their roles in a drug trafficking conspiracy in Kodiak.
According to court documents, Velasco and Santiago II allegedly devised a plan involving themselves and others to possess and distribute methamphetamine in Kodiak. During the drug conspiracy, Velasco travelled to California to purchase methamphetamine from sources in California for distribution in Alaska. Velasco then packaged and mailed the methamphetamine via United States Postal Service (USPS) to Juneau, where a co-conspirator repackaged it and then mail ....

Aurora explosions suspect appears in court

AURORA, Colo. The suspect accused of setting off explosive devices in Aurora in December and January, appeared in court Tuesday.
The attorney for Scott Alan Campbell made arguments to reduce his bond, citing numerous contributions Campbell has made to the community in the past. The judge eventually denied the request.
The affidavit in Campbell s case remains sealed and his bond was left at $1 million.
Campbell is scheduled back in court on Friday, Jan. 22 at 8:30 a.m.
Aurora Police arrested Campbell in connection to two explosions in Southeast Aurora, police said on Saturday.
A SWAT team arrested him about 11 p.m. Friday at his home at 3563 S. Uravan St., the Aurora Police Department (APD) said in a news release. ....

Police make arrest in explosions that damaged Aurora homes

AURORA, Colo. Aurora police say they have arrested a man in connection with explosions that damaged three homes since late last month.
The Gazette of Colorado Springs reports that a special weapons and tactics team arrested Scott A. Campbell at his home at about 11 p.m. Friday.
The first explosion, early on Christmas Day, damaged two homes on East Mansfield Avenue in southeast Aurora. The second damaged a home on South Pagosa circle on Jan. 7.
Campbell was being held in the Arapahoe County Jail on a $1 million bond Saturday and was scheduled to make an initial appearance on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., according to online jail records. ....
