Caulfield to ride six hotpots.
But the idea of following her fiancé
Clayton Douglas over the scary-big obstacles at the Bool – a different story.
Kah the superstar played temporary second fiddle to Douglas last week at the famous
TAB Warrnambool May carnival. She had a handful of rides, for no winners, and seemed comfortable in her supporting role.

MORNINGTON-based trainer Brett Scott landed one of the most memorable wins of the Warrnambool May Carnival having taken out the elusive Galleywood Hurdle (3200m) just five weeks after being released from hospital.
Scott was immediately flooded with congratulatory cheers following the tenacious win of his promising jumper The Statesman, ridden by another Mornington-based jockey Will Gordon, in one of the carnival’s feature jumps races on Wednesday 5 May.
Scott, a four-time Grand Annual Steeplechase-winning jockey, had overcome life-threatening injuries after being kicked in the head by a horse at his Mornington property just two months earlier. ....

A cold front will cross lower parts of the southeast of Australia on Monday, bringing strong winds, cooler temperatures, showers and the odd storm.
South Australia will feel the effects of the front overnight tonight as winds strengthen ahead of the system. Gusty winds may exceed 50 km/h across the southeast from Kangaroo Island to Mt Gambier into Monday morning. Showers will also spread across the southeast of South Australia through Monday, with a few storms possible. ....

The morning after
Ciaron Maher and
Dave Eustace trained the quinella in the South Australian Derby – another notch on the belt of this extraordinary, youthful training duo – a wily rival trainer quipped: “look at them in the yard.”
“Sprinters, stayers, jumpers, they’re all the same,” the trainer said. “They just lope around, heads down. You look at a lot of trainers and their horses are yanking at the bridle, wasting energy. Ciaron’s horses are so relaxed. He gets inside their heads. The man is a freak.”
The ability of 37-year-old Maher to “get inside their heads” has been the magic ingredient of his training since the very start, way back when he had six boxes at his old man’s farm on the outskirts of ....
