The European Union (EU) and Sri Lanka held their 23rd meeting of the Joint Commission on 25 January 2021, via video conference. This was the first Joint Commission under the new leadership in both the European Union and Sri Lanka.
The Joint Commission meeting, held in a cordial and open atmosphere wih the EU and Sri Lanka exchanging views on a wide array of subjects, reaffirming the deep cooperation ties and the willingness to strengthen the relationship between the people of the EU and Sri Lanka further.

Rawalpindi: The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) and National Institute of Health Islamabad (NIH) signed five year Document of Understanding (DoU) here Friday to strengthen research cooperation in the development of medical sciences.
The DoU was inked by NUMS Vice Chancellor Lt. General (r) Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed and Executive Director NIH Major General Aamir Ikram at a simple ceremony at the university secretariat. The World Health Organisation has thanked India for continued support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. India has been sending vaccines to countries in the South Asian neighbourhood and to others like Brazil and Morocco. South Africa will also get the vaccine soon.

Moody's: NCB's merger with Samba will reinforce NCB's asset management arm

RIYADH In Q3, 2020, National Commercial Bank (NCB, A1 negative, baa1) and Samba Financial Group (A1 negative, a2) entered a binding merger agreement.
Following the announcement of this merger agreement, the joint integration planning committee at the parent bank level approved the merger of the capitals between NCB Capital and Samba Capital & Investment Management Company (Samba Capital) once the banks merger has been completed and Moody’s affirmed the MQ1 investment manager quality assessment of NCB Capital.
The merger subject to obtention of regulatory approval will lead to a consolidation of the groups asset management subsidiaries, NCB Capital (MQ1) and Samba Capital. This will reinforce the position of the merged entity as Saudi Arabia s biggest asset manager, based on assets under management (AUM). ....
