The case unfolded on Feb. 1, as U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to information regarding two immigrants who were being held against their will in the 100 block of Clark Boulevard. Agents along with Homeland Security Investigations special agents and Webb County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office deputies responded to the location. ....

All were determined to be immigrants who were in the country illegally.Courtesy photo / A Mexican citizen illegally residing in Laredo has been arrested for operating a stash house according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Law enforcement arrested Maria San Juana de Hoyos, 43, on Thursday at her home in the 200 block of Valladolid Avenue in the Santa Rita neighborhood in south Laredo. De Hoyos is accused of operating a human stash house in the 3800 block of Alexandra Court, off Texas 359. A search of the home yielded 10 immigrants from Mexico. If convicted, de Hoyos faces up to 20 years in federal prison. ....
