The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied that its security outfit, Eastern Security Network (ESN), is responsible for the attack on the Imo State police headquarters and the Correctional Centre in Owerri on Monday.
IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, in a statement insisted that ESN and IPOB are focused on chasing Fulani herdsmen away from their forests.
“ESN is in the bush chasing Fulani terrorists. Why linking IPOB and ESN to this attack? IPOB and ESN were not involved in the attack in Owerri, Imo State. and the recent attack on Onitsha Owerri road at Ukwuorji junction.

“It is not our mandate to attack security personnel or prison facilities. ....

KARACHI: Prominent pharmaceutical company Getz Pharma and the Aga Khan University Outreach Health Network have paired up together to eradicate Hepatitis C in Pakistan.
According to a press release by Getz Pharma, the company has pledged to make a significant in-kind donation of medicines to the Aga Khan University Outreach Health Network for its Hepatitis C Elimination Programme .
A ceremony was held in this regard on Friday, April 2, with strict adherence to all safety precautions for coronavirus.
The deal was inked by Getz Pharma CEO Khalid Mahmood and Aga Khan University President Firoz Rasul. ....

Half a dozen Christians from two Wymondham churches held a socially-distanced Walk of Witness in Wymondham town centre on Good Friday with a large wooden cross.
The group stopped in several locations to listen to Bible readings and pray.

The organiser was retired vicar Mike Porter from Alive Church who was joined by colleagues from the church and Rev John Potter from the Wymondham United Reformed Church.

Mike said: “Over the weeks up to Easter I was reflecting on the fact that we had not been able to have our usual ecumenical procession of the cross through Wymondham in 2020, and it saddened me to think that the same would be the case in 2021. However, the thought had occurred to me that there was no reason why up to six people should not walk through Wymondham with a cross. ....

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, says operatives of the Eastern Security Network carried out Monday attacks in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Adamu condemned the alleged act by the security arm of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra.
But the IPOB has since denied being behind the attacks.
The IGP in a statement signed by Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, ordered the immediate deployment of additional units of Police Mobile Force and other Police Tactical Squads to the state to strengthen security in the state and prevent further attacks on security formations or any other critical national infrastructure in the state. ....
