A Florida school principal will not face charges for paddling a six year old student in front of her mother.
While corporal punishment is allowed in some Florida school districts, it s not in Hendry County, where the incident occurred last month.
State Attorney Amira Fox released a statement saying that after reviewing evidence, Central Elementary Principal Melissa Carter did not commit a crime.
The child s mother says she didn t intervene because she doesn t speak English and is in the country illegally. Her daughter was brought to the office for damaging a computer.
The paddling was caught on video by the mother s cell phone, which was hidden in her purse. ....
