Supreme Court has on Friday directed petitioner seeking directions for enacting Advocates Protection Act for protection of Advocates in India, to make a representation to the Law Ministry.

A three-judge Bench of CJI Bobde, Justice Bopanna and Justice Ramasubramanian granted the petitioner liberty to withdraw the plea and approach the Law Ministry regarding enactment of Advocate Protection Act.

The Act is being sought after Telangana lawyer couple Advocates Gattu Vaman Rao and his wife PV Nagamani were murdered in broad daylight.
During the hearing, Advocate Sai Deepak appeared for petitioner. Make a representation to the Law Ministry. We cannot do anything. CJI said ....
