AgeGuide, the Area Agency on Aging for Northeastern Illinois, and the Village of Lombard are partnering to make Lombard a dementia-friendly community.
AgeGuide is seeking community members to join an advisory council that will work together to improve the lives of people with dementia and their caregivers. The first meeting will be held virtually from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20, via Zoom.
 
A dementia friendly community raises awareness and develops respect and inclusion for people with dementia. The designation also means that services and resources are integrated into all aspects of community life. This ensures positive interactions, ease of access and meaningful engagement for people with dementia, their care partners and families. ....
