Trains cancelled as emergency services tackle 'incident' between Bolton and Leyland

A MAN died in an incident on the railway between Bolton and Leyland yesterday afternoon.
Officers were sent to Lostock railway station at around 4.40pm after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Emergency services arrived but a man was discovered to have died.
No more details have been released about the incident other than that a file will be prepared for the coroner.
There were train delays between Bolton, Wigan and Preston.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: Officers were called to Lostock railway station, Bolton, at 4.38pm on Tuesday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene. ....

Trains cancelled in Bolton as emergency services tackle 'incident'

TRAINS have come to a halt on major routes tonight as emergency services are dealing with an incident on the line between Bolton and Leyland.
The line is currently blocked near Lostock, and major delays are expected between Bolton, Wigan and Preston for the rest of the evening.
Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or diverted. Disruption is expected until around 7pm tonight.
Dean Butler was on a 16.32 service from Bolton, bound for Southport, when the train came to an abrupt halt. He said: We left Bolton and around seven minutes later we stopped in the middle of a field. ....
