According to the release, Kobe Beattie, 19, was passing a vehicle on Meeker Stearns Street east of 632nd Avenue when he lost control and the vehicle left the roadway and hit a field approach, causing the vehicle to roll. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

Two people were taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Driver Benno Vincent Roehl, 88, and passenger Marlys Ann Roehl, 82, both of Darwin, received non-life threatening injuries in the crash and were transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital, according to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol. Both people were wearing seat belts.
