People 'should be able to nominate' for whatever COVID-19 jab they want: Ross Greenwood

Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says a person should be able to nominate whichever COVID-19 jab they wish to receive, as vaccine hesitancy appears to be increasing.

"In this particular case, the government locked itself into AstraZeneca way too early, and obviously, for whatever reason, some parts of the community are concerned about getting that jab," he said.

"The government at one stage of course said the Pfizer jab would be saved for the vulnerable and elderly, then it was suddenly changed. it moved around and because of that the community became confused about what was best for them.

"So confidence, regardless of the facts or veracity of the arguments, it just became a bit confusing." ....

Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says the Morrison government needs to ensure wages grow faster without them growing “too fast”.
Wages are expected to go backwards in the short term with the wage price index predicted to be at 1.5 per cent by the end of the 2021-2022 financial year.
“If your real wages are going backwards, you’re going to get real pushes from unions for wage rises,” Mr Greenwood said.
“So the government has got to find some way to really try and make certain they don’t get wages growing too fast, but they want them growing faster. ....

It s effectively saying, while the borders are closed and we can t get people in from overseas until the middle of next year, we ve got to get people into work, he said.
