Elizabethtown Com­munity and Technical College will host its annual Beacons of Light Celebration virtually at 7 p.m. Friday. 
According to a news release, “Beacons of Light recognizes African American heroes in the college’s service region for their success, exemplary service to their professions and communities, and commitment to servant leadership and equity.”
This year’s honorees include Terrie Burgan, Ed Harris and Darian Parker and were selected by a special selection committee.
• Burgan, who serves as the health promotion manager and public information officer for the Lincoln Trail District Health Department, was nominated by Dr. Donielle Lovelle of Western Kentucky University. ....
